DAY 1 – BOKSBURG → MIDLANDS MEANDER | SETTLING INTO NATURE

Begin your journey with an early-morning departure from Dayan Glen, Boksburg.
Sit back and enjoy the changing landscapes as the countryside unfolds.

Your first stop is the peaceful Sterkfontein Dam — a photographer’s haven with sweeping waterside views. Enjoy time to walk, explore, or simply soak up the fresh air.

Continue into the Midlands, arriving in Lions River for lunch at a charming local restaurant (lunch at own expense). Spend time enjoying warm hospitality and fresh regional flavours.

After lunch, travel onward to your accommodation in Howick.
Check in, settle into your room, and enjoy time to relax in a serene setting.

Dinner is served at your accommodation, followed by a restful evening at leisure.

DAY 2 – KARKLOOF CANOPY TOUR | FOREST ADVENTURE

Enjoy breakfast at your accommodation before heading to the Karkloof Canopy Tour — a highlight of the Midlands.

This unforgettable treetop experience takes you high into the indigenous Karkloof Forest, where wooden platforms look out over lush canopy and cascading streams. Glide along zip lines between the trees while knowledgeable guides share insight into the region’s ecology and birdlife. It’s an adventure suitable for all ages and abilities.

Return to your accommodation afterward and enjoy the afternoon at your own pace — relax, explore nearby attractions, or simply enjoy the countryside atmosphere.

Dinner will be enjoyed at your accommodation, followed by a peaceful evening.

DAY 3 – MIDLANDS CULTURAL DISCOVERY | HOWICK & HERITAGE

After breakfast, begin your day with a visit to the spectacular Howick Falls, where the Umgeni River drops 95 metres into a deep pool below. Take in the views and browse the stalls and shops nearby.

Continue to the Nelson Mandela Capture Site, an important landmark in South African history. Here, the dramatic steel sculpture and immersive museum commemorate the moment Nelson Mandela was arrested before his long imprisonment. Spend time exploring the exhibitions and learning about this defining historical chapter.

Return to your accommodation in the afternoon.
Enjoy downtime before dinner is served on-site.
The evening is at leisure.

DAY 4 – HORSEBACK ADVENTURE & RETURN TO BOKSBURG

Enjoy your final breakfast at your accommodation before checking out.

Travel to Karkloof Horse Adventures, where a guided horseback experience awaits.
